Robert Kirkman, creator/writer of The Walking Dead, was the special guest in the latest episode of Playing Dead. Playing Dead is Telltale’s developer diary for the upcoming The Walking Dead game.
In the interview, Kirkman talks about why the game isn’t based on Rick Grimes, why it’s not an open-world shooter, why player choice and decision making is a big deal and why he chose Telltale to make a game based on The Walking Dead.
Along with the interview, the episode also features an extended look at the game’s action horror game-play.
Kirkman had the following to say about the experience he wants for fans from the game:
Being able to spend some time in the Walking Dead world in a way that you’ve never been able to before is awesome and I think that’s what people are going to get out of this game and that’s what I want them to get out of this game. I want them to feel the terror and feel loss and feel the horrible decisions you have to make in order to survive.
The Walking Dead is a 5 part episodic game series coming to Xbox LIVE Arcade, PlayStation Network, PC, Mac and other leading platforms. The first episode will be available for download in late April.
